Nestled on the side of the fells that overlook the Troutbeck Valley, we provide a cosy little corner to relax and unwind with a warm Lakeland welcome for everyone who steps through our doors.
Close to Lake District attractions and the iconic fells of Scafell, Helvellyn, Skiddaw, and Bowfell, we’ve been offering a place to stay for travelers and adventurers for generations. Spend the night in one of our 10 bedrooms.

Indulge in our humble seasonal menu packed full of pub favorites, Lakeland classics, and dishes carefully crafted with only the freshest, seasonal produce. If you are popping by at the weekend, don’t forget to try our delicious Sunday roast.
Bringing a four-legged friend? We love dogs so much we even named our house beer, ‘Patterd’ Ale’, after our Landlady’s pooch. We have 8 dog-friendly rooms along with roaring fires to warm up two feet and four paws at the end of a great walk.
